Bluehawk is seeking a detailed Senior Accountant with strong GovCon accounting experience and deep expertise in Unanet to join our Finance team in either the Northern Virginia or South Florida office. In this role, The Senior Accountant oversees the company’s accounting operations, ensuring the production of accurate financial reports, maintaining a robust system of accounting records, and implementing controls to mitigate risk. This role is crucial for enhancing the accuracy of financial results and ensuring compliance with GAAP, CAS, and FAR.

• Responsible for semi-monthly payroll processing/time collections, monthly invoicing and accounts receivable, and weekly accounts payable processing.
• Assist with the following core accounting functions: general ledger and cost accounting.
• Assist with month-end closing process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis and management reporting and analysis of deliverables.
• Assist with audits and all compliance related reporting (tax, governmental, commercial).
• Create project setup, task order management, invoice, and project reporting.
• Proactively identify issues and assist in optimizing systems, upgrades, and automation of accounting processes.
• Assist in various special projects and analysis, including budget and forecast.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum Three (3) years of experience with Unanet
• Minimum Three (3) years of GovCon experience
• Minimum Three (3) years of experience in cost plus environments, including Incurred Cost Submission and DCAA/DCMA/government audit support
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong sense of initiative and sense of urgency required with reliable follow-through/execution skills.
