The Counterintelligence (CI) Analyst–Journeyman provides administrative, research, and analytical support to CI investigations and operations. The analyst develops IC-coordinated, all-source intelligence products assessing foreign intelligence entities’ capabilities, intentions, and opportunities to target U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, resources, activities, and interests worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regional and functional CI analysis, including threats to the Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP), DoD supply chains, emerging technologies, and foreign intelligence technical equipment.
  • Support senior officials, collectors, and operators across the DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), and law enforcement organizations.
  • Contribute to DIA’s CI programs and mission activities through analytic support, case development, and operational insight.
  • Prepare and maintain case files, documentation, and supporting reports.
  • Manage and visualize data to support investigations and operations.
  • Research and vet information for travel and contract reports.
  • Assist with case timelines, intake, and preparation of briefings.
  • Capture meeting notes and maintain database tracking for ongoing cases

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of cumulative CI, security, or intelligence experience, including:
    • 1.5 years in CI functional services.
    • 1 year in CI investigations.
    • 1 year in CI operations support.
    • 1 year in CI collection management.
    • 1.5 years in CI analysis.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Case file preparation and documentation.
    • Data management and visualization.
    • Vetting and research for reports.
    • Developing case timelines and briefings.
    • Note-taking and database tracking.
