Position Overview

We are seeking a Mid-Level Economic Analyst to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) by conducting in-depth research and analysis of foreign economic structures and their integration with military-industrial complexes. This position plays a critical role in assessing the financial and economic capabilities of foreign states and non-state actors, supporting national security and defense decision-making.

Location: DIA HQ – Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.

• Analyze foreign economic structures and their role in supporting military and industrial capabilities
• Assess the economic health and defense spending capabilities of state and non-state actors
• Identify potential economic vulnerabilities and leverage points that could influence foreign military operations or strategic decisions
• Produce detailed, accurate, and actionable intelligence reports for senior policymakers and defense leaders
• Conduct open-source and classified research leveraging macroeconomic, financial, and industrial data sources

• 3+ years of experience conducting intelligence community (IC) analysis
• Strong ability to produce well-researched deliverables, briefings, and reports tailored to senior-level audiences
• Solid knowledge of macroeconomics and financial markets
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• One of the following education/experience combinations:
  • High School diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience in intelligence or economics, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in intelligence or economics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying IC economics analysis aligned with ICD 203/206 tradecraft standards
• Familiarity with data science principles, economic modeling, or working with large datasets
• Knowledge of the Intelligence Community and Combatant Command environments
• Familiarity with the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility (AOR)
• Willingness to support shift work if needed
