  • Overview

    As a MASINT System Engineer you will provide engineering expertise as part of a cross-functional team for terrestrial-based technical collection.  The engineer will advise the customer on the development process for specialized MASINT technology.  The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience with small-scale hardware development projects.

    The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, quickly understand complex technical concepts and make assessments, and articulate recommendations to the customer.

    Responsibilities

    Serve as the primary engineering expert on a cross-functional team


    · Provide technical input into full project life-cycle, including: requirements definition, developer oversight, and testing and evaluation
    · Serve as the technical interface to an external sensor developer
    · Assess technical solutions provided by external developers and provide recommendations to the government
    · Translate technical assessments to technically-varied audiences
    · Will split time between two locations: Reston, VA, and Baltimore, MD
    · This position will involve occasional CONUS travel

    Qualifications

    BS or higher in an applicable engineering discipline (e.g., Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering)


    · A minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting DOD/IC
    · Expert level knowledge of MASINT development process
    · Recent experience with small-scale hardware development projects and technical requirements definition
    · Self-starter who takes initiative, is quick to understanding tasking, flexible, organized, and understands the big picture but can focus on the mission critical details
    · Excellent written and oral communication skills
    · Critical thinker with proven problem solving skills

     

    Desired Qualifications
    · SETA experience
    · Hardware integration experience
    · Robotics, machine learning, AI experience
    · Knowledge of systems acquisition process
