Overview

Transcribes and/or translates source material, both printed and audio, provides analysis and reporting of translated foreign language source material.

We are accepting applicants for current and future Linguist / Language analyst opportunities with our company. Applicants will be considered for open positions and in support of contract proposal preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Scan, gist, translate and transcribe foreign-language text and audio into correct, idiomatic English.
  • Conduct consecutive and accurate translation, transcription, and interpretation of on-going conversations and intelligence collection activities into, from and between the target language and English.
  • Provide accurate idiomatic translations of non-technical material using correct syntax and expression from English to the target language or vice versa.
  • Perform document exploitation (scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for intelligence information).
  • Provide the cultural and ethnic context of translations and interpretations and provide advice on the cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, documents, etc.
  • Positions require linguists to work shifts and may include 8 hours/day, 5 days/week; I 0 hours/day, 4 days/week; or similar types of shift schedules.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ABILITIES/EDUCATION:

  • Experience as a professional translator and/or interpreter.
  • Candidates must have the ability to type and knowledge of basic computer applications.
  • Candidate must be able to achieve IRL or DLPT level 3 in reading, listening and speaking of the target language and English.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/EDUCATION:

  • Ability to supplement interpretations and translations with information pertinent and specific to professional fields such as medicine, scientific, engineering, legal, etc.
  • Technical writing and editing skills.
  • Previous experience working with the U.S. Government.
  • Working proficiency in web-based communication technologies to include social media, Sharepoint and Microsoft Office applications.

REQUIRED SECURITY, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS:

  • Required Security Clearance: SECRET with the ability to obtain TOP SECRET and SCI Eligibility
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
