Tier III Network Administrator -Level 3, Washington, DC (2185)



Bluehawk, LLC. is seeking a Tier III Network Administrator - Level 3 in Washington, DC (2185)


The Tier III Network Administrator will provide monitoring, maintenance and advanced support of voice, data, and/or video communications networks for the (Day/Swing and/or Mid) shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 3rd level resolution and customer support to all customer managed networks. Candidate must be able to accurately document; using customer outage tracking software, network and/or VTC outages is critical.


The main tools utilized for this position at the GNOC include: Putty, SharePoint, GEM, WhatsUpGold, Tivoli, Cisco IOS, Support Web Incident Tracking System, and various network monitoring/troubleshooting tools as required.


  • Skill Requirements:
    • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operating/hardware network system problems
    • Demonstrate network troubleshooting techniques and experience
    • Ensure compliance with network security policies and
    • Assist in the development of the policies and procedures as they pertain to the network
    • Manage the Enterprise Network for resource
    • Create and report all outage notifications and network related issues according to standard operating
    • Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols
    • Experience with both LAN and WAN troubleshooting
    • GEM experience for monitoring and configuration of crypto equipment
    • Experience with WAN circuit technologies (T1, DS3, OC-3, OC-12, OC-192)
    • Comprehensive knowledge of CISCO and Juniper routers and switches along with VTC network hardware and software tools listed above
    • Possess comprehensive knowledge of operating systems and applications as they pertain to the network environment
    • Participate in engineering projects or upgrades as tasked by management
    • Interface with vendors to ensure proper performance of tools and software packages
    • Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI's) as directed.
    • Provide After Action Reports (AARs) for Problem Management resolution
    • Experience with programming and troubleshooting KG-175A and KG-175D encryptors (to include 10G encryptors)
    • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance to lower tier employees

Training and Certifications: 

  • DoD 8570 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required within the task order.
  • Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified within the task order.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Ability/ Education

 To be considered you must meet one of the following requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Associates degree from an accredited college and 8 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college and 4 years of relevant experience
  • PhD from an accredited college and 2 years of relevant experience

Required Security, Certification, Licenses and/or Registration

  • Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Possess documented immigrant status
  • Must be able to successfully pass a government security background check
  • Security +CE Certification


 Preferred Certifications (Not required):

  • CCNA (desired)
  • Network +CE (desired)
  • ITIL Foundations (desired)
